LE GREEN LADIES E I VOLONTARI DI SULMONA "CALAMITE UNIVERSALI" DEL VOLONTARIATO AMBIENTALE SOLIDALE

MAURO NARDELLA  ( CITTADINO SULMONESE E SINDACALISTA UIL): COMMOVENTE VEDERE QUESTE PERSONE ALL' OPERA.SULMONA - "Sono accorsi in tanti e in numero sempre maggiore i volontari in quello che è stato definito il "sabato del villaggio ambientale".Le donne e gli uomini che da moltissime settimane si stanno adoperando "sacrificando"  il loro tempo libero e scrivendo una pagina bellissima di Sulmona hanno contribuito a rendere fruibile una delle aree verdi più belle e frequentate della città liberandola da immondizia ed erba alta.Il contributo dominante di queste ultime settimane è stato dato dall'effetto calamita che, complice il bellissimo rilancio mediatico dato all'evento dai vari organi di stampa, sta attirando sempre più persone.

È il caso ad esempio di Sarah e Thomas i quali, dopo avere appreso dai giornali dell'importante iniziativa , si sono voluti mettere a subito disposizione e, provenienti direttamente dall'Inghilterra, non hanno voluto mancare al consolidato appunto con il "cleaning up" delle green ladies e dei volontari sulmonesi.Il loro arrivo, ovviamente, unito a quello di molti altri tra i quali Isabella e suo marito titolari di una importante nota enoteca in città, è stato festeggiato come si deve dai " veterani" Giuseppe Pergola ( coordinatore del gruppo), Pasquale Di Toro, Enzo e Walter Tirimacco, Gianfranco Di Cesare ( imprenditori locali che hanno messo a disposizione gratuitamente gran parte dei loro mezzi ) e dall'assessore comunale Salvatore Zavarella.Vale la pena sottolineare il fatto che i volontari agiscono in parallelo con i dipendenti comunali coaudiuvandoli in tutte quelle operazioni di ripulitura e risistemazione del verde.

Bellissimo è stato lo scambio culturale avutosi con una cooperativa locale che sta adottando da anni un'area nella quale insiste il monumento di  Giuseppe Capograssi (uno dei personaggi  che ha scritto la storia della città peligna) e che fino a qualche anno fa viveva nel totale degrado.L'auspicio ora e sempre più sarebbe quello di vedere, attingendo dall'esempio dei volontari ambientali solidali  di questa cooperativa e così come stanno facendo gli abitanti di piazza Tenente Iacovone ( una delle aree bonificate dai volontari) adottare dai residenti tutte le aree verdi sinora bonificate.Se così fosse non sarebbe affatto sminuente relegare la città di Sulmona ad esempio civico nazionale.Per quanto mi riguarda non posso fare altro che commuovermi ed ammirare ogni qualvolta  mi ritrovo ad assistere a questo tipo di eventi".

TWO ENGLISHES IN SUPPORT OF THE SOLIDARITY ENVIRONMENTAL VOLUNTEER OF SULMONA. MAURO NARDELLA (SULMONESE CITIZEN AND UIL TRADE UNION): MOVING TO SEE THESE PEOPLE AT WORK. Many and more and more volunteers flocked to what has been called the "Saturday of the environmental village". The women and men who for many weeks have been working "sacrificing" their free time and writing a beautiful page of Sulmona have contributed to making accessible one of the most beautiful and popular green areas in the city, freeing it from garbage and tall grass. The dominant contribution of recent weeks has been given by the magnet effect which, thanks to the beautiful media re-launch given to the event by the various press organs, is attracting more and more people. This is the case, for example, of Sarah and Thomas who, after having learned of the important initiative from the newspapers, wanted to make themselves available immediately and, coming directly from England, did not want to miss the consolidation precisely with the "cleaning up" of green ladies and volunteers from Sulmona. Their arrival, obviously, together with that of many others including Isabella and her husband, owners of an important wine shop in the city, was celebrated as it should be by the "veterans" Giuseppe Pergola (coordinator of the group), Pasquale Di Toro, Enzo and Walter Tirimacco, Gianfranco Di Cesare (local entrepreneurs who have made most of their vehicles available free of charge) and by the municipal councilor Salvatore Zavarella. It is worth underlining the fact that the volunteers act in parallel with the municipal employees assisting them in all those operations of cleaning and rearrangement of the green. The cultural exchange with a local cooperative that has been adopting for years an area in which the monument of Giuseppe Capograssi (one of the characters who wrote the history of the Peligna city) stands and who until a few years ago lived in the total decay. The hope now and more and more would be to see, drawing on the example of the environmental volunteers of this cooperative and as the inhabitants of Piazza Tenente Iacovone (one of the areas reclaimed by volunteers) are doing, adopt all the green areas by the residents so far reclaimed. If this were the case, it would not be at all belittling to relegate the city of Sulmona as a national civic example.
