MAURO NARDELLA REDAZIONE IPA ITALIA: "SE NE E' ANDATO L'EX PRESIDENTE INTERNAZIONALE DELL'IPA MICHAEL ODYSSEOS"

L'AQUILA - "La triste notizia ha gettato nello sconforto chi ha avuto la fortuna di conoscerlo.È con grande tristezza che l'IPA Italia ha appreso della morte del caro amico ed ex presidente internazionale dell'IPA Michael Odysseos.L'IPA ha sempre giocato un ruolo enorme nella vita di Michael. È stato determinante nella formazione e affiliazione di IPA Cipro e ha guidato la sezione per molti anni con grande passione, ritirandosi nel 2019.Sulla scena internazionale, Michael è stato eletto Revisore interno, prima di servire per due mandati come Vice Presidente Internazionale il nostro sodalizio. La sua carriera nell'IPA è poi proseguita con la sua elezione a Presidente Internazionale, carica che ha ricoperto per 12 anni e per la quale è stato insignito della Medaglia di Bronzo IPA nel 1986, della Medaglia d'Argento nel 1993 e della Medaglia d'Oro nel 2012 all'IPA World Congress in Israele, laddove si è dimesso poi volontariamente dal suo ufficio.I suoi ultimi incarichi internazionali lo hanno visto ricoprire il ruolo di Advisor dell'IEC e dell'International Board fino al 2013.Michael ha rispettato il motto dell'IPA, Servo per Amikeco, per tutta la sua lunga e attiva vita, ed è stato una forza trainante nel garantire che la sua sezione natale dell'IPA Cipro svolgesse sempre un ruolo vitale all'interno dell'associazione. In quanto tale, è stato molto orgoglioso dell'organizzazione del XXI Congresso mondiale IPA nel 2015 nel suo paese d'origine.

Ho avuto la fortuna di conoscere Michael in occasione del Congresso Nazionale tenutosi a Senigallia tredici anni fa.Tutti quelli che come me hanno avuto il privilegio di trascorrere del tempo prezioso con Michael, possono ritenersi fortunati per aver beneficiato del suo esempio e dei suoi consigli.

Michael Odisseos è nato nell'isola di Cipro il 25 ottobre ed ha ricoperto importanti funzioni nella polizia di quella nazione compresa quella di Vice Capo della Polizia.

A nome di tutta la famiglia IPA, le nostre più sentite condoglianze vanno alla famiglia di Michael, così come ai nostri amici dell'IPA Cipro. Ci mancherai, Michele.

THE FORMER INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT OF IPA MICHAEL ODYSSEOS GONE

The sad news has thrown despair those who have had the good fortune to know him

It is with great sadness that IPA Italy learned of the death of dear friend and former international president of IPA Michael Odysseos.

The IPA has always played a huge role in Michael's life. He was instrumental in the formation and affiliation of IPA Cyprus and led the section for many years with great passion, retiring in 2019.

On the international scene, Michael was elected Internal Auditor, before serving our association for two terms as International Vice President. His career in the IPA then continued with his election as International President, a position he held for 12 years and for which he was awarded the IPA Bronze Medal in 1986, the Silver Medal in 1993 and the Medal of 'Gold in 2012 at the IPA World Congress in Israel, where he voluntarily resigned from his office.

His most recent international assignments saw him cover the role of Advisor to the IEC and the International Board until 2013.

Michael respected the IPA motto, Servo per Amikeco, throughout his long and active life, and was a driving force in ensuring that his home section of IPA Cyprus always played a vital role within the association. . As a short story, he was very proud of organizing the 21st IPA World Congress in 2015 in his home country.

I was lucky enough to meet Michael at the National Congress held in Senigallia thirteen years ago. All those like me who have had the privilege of spending precious time with Michael can consider themselves lucky to have benefited from his example and advice.

Michael Odisseos was born on the island of Cyprus on 25 October and has held positions in the police of that important nation including that of Deputy Chief of Police.
